I was involved in a collision last year when a van ran into the rear of me whilst I was stationary. The van drove off, but I managed to get the vehicle registration number. I called my insurance company, but they told me I wasn’t insured as my policy lapsed 2 weeks ago. I didn’t know what to do until a bloke in the pub advised me to call the accident adviceline. I called them the next day and to my surprise they took my case on. I was provided with a car within 4 hours, and my car was inspected by an engineer within 2 weeks. The driver of the van was caught and fined, and I ended up with £2000 for a car that I bought for £1500 4 months earlier, along with the use of a brand new Saab estate hire car for 6 weeks until I received a cheque.
I would advise them to anyone, even if its just some free advice on when you are entitled too.

In june last year I was knocked off my motorbike by a car pulling out in front of me. My bike was smashed to bits, and I had bad cuts and bruises all over my body. I called the accident adviceline to see what they could do and they came to my aid immediately. I could not ride a bike so they provided me with a car whilst the claim was been sorted. They referred me to a solicitor who was a graet help. My bike was damaged beyond repair, but I wanted to but it back and repair it. The solicitor sorted it all out, he got a settlement offer of £2800 if the insurers dispose of the bike or £2500 if I keep it. Oh and I had a offer for my injuries within 3 months
